It's not common to find the complete set these days, with the monitor, joystick, and everything else. It's a shame it doesn't have the disk drives.



  • Fact 1: The Apple IIGS was manufactured starting in 1986, and was a part of the Apple II line, which ended production with the Apple IIe in 1993.
  • Fact 2: The Apple IIGS was revolutionary for its on-board synthesizer sound card; in fact, the "GS" in the name stands for "graphics and sound."
  • Fact 3: The first 50,000 Apple IIGSs manufactured were signed by Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple Computers, and are now known as "Woz editions."
  • Fact 4: It would take roughly 2,000 Apple IIGSs worth of data to fill a single 2GB iPod Shuffle, which is the smallest iPod sold by Apple today.
  • Fact 5: John Carmack, founder of id Software, creators of the groundbreaking computer games Doom, Wolfenstein, and Quake, started his career on an Apple IIGS.
